Scarlet & Violet Obsidian Flames arrived in 2023 as the Pokemon TCG's third expansion set following the generation's launch. This era marked a return to modern collecting's mainstream popularity, with pre-release events becoming celebrated milestones for players and collectors alike. The set introduced compelling artwork and competitive staples that defined the format's early metagame. Mawile's holo treatment captures the steel-fairy type's distinctive appeal—a steel-jawed creature that has remained competitively relevant across multiple Pokemon generations. Collectors appreciate both its striking visual presentation and its place within a set known for consistent artwork quality throughout the lineup.
