Burning Shadows arrived in 2017 during an exciting period for the Pokémon TCG, when the Sun & Moon era was introducing Alola region variants and the powerful GX mechanic. This set became a collecting cornerstone, balancing competitive playability with stunning full-art and alternate-art cards that drew both players and visual collectors. The set's popularity established many cards as long-term chase pieces. Alolan Muk GX represents this set's appeal perfectly, showcasing the creative Alola regional form that reimagined the classic Poison-type as a sleek Dark-type.
