Pokémon Celebrations marked the franchise's 25th anniversary in 2021, bringing together classic reprints alongside new illustrations to honor the game's legacy. This special set captured the hobby at a pivotal moment of explosive growth, becoming one of the era's most sought sets as nostalgia and renewed interest drove collectors back to the trading card game. Celebrations symbolized how the hobby could bridge generations, appealing equally to those remembering Base Set and newer players discovering Pokémon cards for the first time. Professor's Research appears as a full art Supporter card featuring vibrant, contemporary artwork that brings the professor character to life beyond the traditional card frame. The full art treatment makes this card particularly popular among collectors who value aesthetics alongside gameplay functionality, as the expanded illustration captures details and personality that standard versions cannot convey.
