Brilliant Stars arrived in early 2022 as the ninth set of the Sword & Shield era, representing the final wave of Pokémon TCG releases before the game's ninth generation launched. The set marked the twilight of this beloved era, arriving during a period when the hobby remained intensely popular following the pandemic boom. Pre-release promos like this one offered collectors and players their first chance to experience the new cards before official release. Lucario has maintained a consistent presence as a fan-favorite fighting-type Pokémon since its introduction, and this Black Star Promo showcases the character in dynamic holo artwork. Collectors pursue these pre-release versions for their exclusivity and distinct promotional status, making them a natural target for those building complete Lucario collections or seeking early-era Sword & Shield promos.
