Shiny Treasure ex arrived in 2023 as a landmark Japanese set that exemplified the hobby's embrace of alternate art treatments and premium collectibles. Building on the success of earlier Shiny Treasure releases, this iteration featured double rare designations that rewarded serious collectors with spectacular full-art and alternate-art cards, cementing the era's focus on visual spectacle and collecting depth alongside gameplay. Chien-Pao ex, the Sword legendary from Pokémon Scarlet, appears here as a striking double rare that captures the ice-type's otherworldly elegance. Collectors pursue this card for its dynamic artwork and the appeal of a competitively relevant Pokémon rendered in the premium presentation that defines this set's identity.
