Silver Tempest arrived in late 2022 as one of Pokémon TCG's final major releases before the Scarlet and Violet era began. The set represented a reflective moment for the hobby—a celebration of the Sword and Shield block's full run, with abundant full-art treatments that appealed to both competitive players and visual collectors. Its timing made it a commercial success during the post-pandemic trading card surge. Mawile V's full-art presentation captures the steel-fairy type in dramatic fashion, showcasing both its elegant and formidable qualities. Full-art Pokémon V cards have remained popular with collectors seeking dynamic, gallery-quality artwork in their collections, and Mawile's distinctive design translates particularly well to the expanded canvas.
