Scarlet & Violet marked Pokémon TCG's ninth generation, arriving in 2023 as the franchise's first dual-region launch. The set energized collectors with modern mechanics, competitive relevance, and a robust secret rare lineup that extended the set beyond its base number. This period represented peak mainstream interest in Pokémon cards, with both seasoned collectors and newcomers actively hunting completion. Starly, the swift normal-flying Pokédex entry, appears here as a secret rare rendered in vibrant full-art style. Collectors appreciate secret rares for their aesthetic appeal and relative scarcity compared to standard printings, making them centerpieces for dedicated set builders and those pursuing complete secret rare collections.
