Burning Shadows arrived in 2017 as part of the Sun & Moon era, a period that revitalized the Pokémon TCG with modernized artwork and engaging mechanics. The set captured collectors' attention with its focus on Alola region variants and GX cards, which were the era's premier mechanic. Burning Shadows became a cornerstone release for players and collectors seeking competitive staples and beautiful full-art cards that defined the era. Salazzle GX represents the appeal of Sun & Moon's design philosophy—a striking Alola-form Pokémon rendered with vibrant colors and dynamic energy. As a GX card, it carried both competitive utility and aesthetic value that made it desirable for players building decks and collectors drawn to the set's most eye-catching cards.
