Hidden Fates arrived in late 2019 as a surprise special set that revitalized the Pokémon TCG during a pivotal moment. Released after years of relatively quiet collecting, it introduced the Shiny Vault subset—full-art cards featuring alternate colorways of beloved Pokémon. The set became a cultural phenomenon, driving renewed interest in the hobby and establishing the template for special premium releases that continue today. Fisherman is a Supporter card depicting a trainer in his natural element, rendered in the expressive full-art style that defines this subset. The character's serene connection to water and fishing captures the calm appeal of the Pokémon world beyond battles, making it a favorite among those drawn to the game's gentler narrative elements and atmospheric artwork.
