EX Dragon launched in 2003 as one of the earliest sets in the EX era, a pivotal time when Pokémon TCG introduced higher-powered cards with built-in drawbacks. The set brought renewed energy to the hobby with full-art basics, compelling mechanics, and striking dragon-themed imagery. It remains a foundational release for collectors exploring early 2000s Pokémon, bridging the nostalgia of Base Set through Gym Heroes with the modern competitive era. Vibrava represents the middle evolution in a three-stage line, capturing the peculiar levitating dragon-insect hybrid mid-transformation. Collectors appreciate EX Dragon's clean card design and artwork from this period, and Vibrava appeals to those building complete evolutionary families or seeking complete set runs from this influential release.
