Pokemon EX Dragon arrived in 2003 as one of the earliest EX-era sets, introducing the powerful EX mechanic that allowed higher damage output at significant risk. The set became foundational to competitive play and collecting, featuring innovative dual-type Pokemon and striking full-art treatments. EX Dragon remains a gateway set for players seeking early 2000s Pokemon cards with historical significance and engaging gameplay designs. Slugma, the humble fire slug, represents the set's commitment to including the full evolutionary lines alongside headline attractions. Its straightforward design and connection to Magcargo make it a natural target for collectors building complete EX Dragon sets or pursuing fire-type lineups from this pivotal era.
