Ruby & Sapphire marked Pokemon's third generation arriving in the TCG, introducing the Hoenn region and its distinctive Pokemon alongside the EX mechanic that defined early 2000s collecting. This set represented a pivotal moment when Pokemon cards remained culturally dominant, and the EX format created a new strategic layer that energized competitive play and casual collecting alike. Treecko serves as one of the set's iconic grass-type representatives, capturing the clever reptilian charm that made Hoenn's starters memorable. The card's artwork brings this agile gecko to life with characteristic detail, making it a natural draw for collectors building complete sets or focusing on starter Pokemon across generations.
