# Card Notes The Cruel Traitor set arrived during a particularly dynamic period for Japanese Pokémon cards, when regional releases often featured distinct artwork and rare pull rates that differed significantly from international counterparts. First Edition Japanese sets from this era have maintained strong collector interest, representing a moment when the hobby's Japanese market was producing some of its most visually striking and sought-after releases. Mareep, the electric-type sheep Pokémon, appears here with the vibrant illustration style characteristic of this set's approach to classic Pokémon designs. Its gentle appearance and crucial role in many players' collections across generations make individual copies of this card compelling for both visual appreciation and completion-focused collectors.
