Pokémon Evolutions arrived in 2016 as a celebration of the original 102-card Base Set, twenty years after the TCG's debut. This nostalgic set captured the cultural moment when Pokémon GO's summer explosion reignited mainstream interest in the franchise. Evolutions became a landmark release—a bridge between vintage collectors and the new wave of enthusiasts discovering cards for the first time, cementing 2016 as a pivotal year for the hobby's modern renaissance. Drowzee represents the set's commitment to including both iconic and overlooked creatures from Generation One. The reverse holo treatment transforms the card's artwork into a shimmering, dimensional display that exemplifies why Evolutions remains highly sought after. Collectors appreciate how this format elevates even supporting Pokémon, making each pull from a booster pack feel special and rewarding.
