Paldea Evolved arrived in 2023 as one of the flagship sets for the Scarlet and Violet era, bringing the newer generation Pokémon into the competitive collecting landscape. The set marked an important transition as the hobby continued its post-pandemic evolution, balancing accessibility with premium chase cards that kept collectors engaged throughout the year. Squawkabilly ex represents the Pokémon Company's modern approach to stage one Pokémon—giving them the ex treatment typically reserved for more iconic creatures. The card's vibrant artwork captures this feisty parrot's personality, and its inclusion appeals to players who appreciate lesser-known Pokémon and collectors building complete ex sets from the era.
