Shiny Treasure ex represents a pivotal moment in the Japanese Pokémon TCG's modern era, arriving in 2024 as collectors increasingly sought alternative collecting strategies beyond the traditional booster box chase. The set's emphasis on full-art and special rarity treatments reflected the hobby's maturation, where visual presentation and distinctive chase cards drove collecting appeal alongside raw pull rates and investment speculation. Forretress ex appears as a Double Rare in this set, combining both the competitive intrigue of an ex-designation with the aesthetic appeal of enhanced artwork and finish. Steel-type Pokémon have maintained steady collector interest, and this particular card's visual treatment makes it a natural target for players building decks and enthusiasts curating thematic collections around Johto region favorites.
