Ruler of the Black Flame emerged during the height of Japanese Pokémon TCG collecting in 2023, a period when secret rares and alternative art treatments dominated collector interest. The set continued the precedent of premium Japanese releases featuring stunning full-art and textured cards that showcased Pokémon beyond their standard depictions. Art Rares became particularly sought after for their unique illustrated frames and dynamic compositions. Lechonk, the charming pig Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet, appears here as an Art Rare with illustrative flair that brings personality to this beloved creature. Collectors appreciate this card for its distinctive artistic treatment and the appeal of owning alternative art versions of popular recent-generation Pokémon, making it a notable pull from an already desirable set.
