Power Keepers arrived in 2007 as one of the final sets of the EX era, a formative period that defined early 2000s competitive play and collecting. Released during Pokémon's sustained resurgence, this set balanced nostalgia with fresh gameplay mechanics, appealing to both established collectors and players returning to the game. The EX sets remain touchstones of the hobby, representing the era before the modern TCG boom. Slaking, the powerful normal-type Sloth Pokémon, appears here in holographic form with the dynamic artwork characteristic of the period. Collectors seek this card for its iconic subject matter and as part of completing their Power Keepers collections, particularly those pursuing the set's holo rare section.
