Score was a cornerstone release of early 2000s football card production, known for accessible collecting and straightforward player photography. The 2001 set arrived during the NFL's pre-digital era, when rookie cards remained the foundation of player collecting. Score's 2001 release captured a generation of prospects entering professional football at a pivotal moment in the hobby's history. Drew Brees' rookie card from this set represents a significant piece of modern football collecting. Brees would go on to become one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in NFL history, making this early appearance highly sought after by fans of his career and those building comprehensive quarterback collections. The card documents his entry into the league before his Hall of Fame trajectory became clear.
