The Kayou 25th Anniversary SpongeBob SquarePants collection represents a significant moment in modern trading card history, bringing beloved animated characters into the collectible card market during the height of the hobby's mainstream resurgence. Released in 2024, this Chinese-market set celebrates a quarter-century of the cultural phenomenon that is SpongeBob SquarePants, offering collectors a fresh way to engage with characters they've known for decades. Squidward stands as one of the core cast members collectors pursue from this release. His cynical, curmudgeonly personality has made him an enduring fan-favorite despite—or perhaps because of—his perpetual disdain for SpongeBob. Collectors appreciate securing cards of the ensemble cast, with Squidward's particular appeal lying in his distinctive character design and memorable role within the show's dynamic.
