SkyBox Marvel Masterpieces Level 2 arrived during a resurgence of interest in vintage comic card aesthetics. The 2022 release captured collectors' nostalgia for the brand's original 1990s runs while introducing the set to a new generation discovering painted artwork and classic character representations. These cards bridged modern collecting with the hobby's celebrated past. Dark Phoenix represents one of Marvel's most iconic and tragic storylines, depicting Jean Grey's transformation into a cosmic force. The character's profound narrative arc and visual drama have made her a consistent favorite among collectors, particularly those drawn to character-driven collecting or X-Men enthusiasts seeking key moments in superhero mythology.
