Topps Garbage Pail Kids: Book Worms arrived as a delightful continuation of the long-running satirical trading card franchise. Released in 2022, this set celebrated the absurdist humor that made GPK a cultural touchstone since the 1980s, blending classic parody sensibilities with contemporary subjects. The series demonstrated the brand's enduring appeal, proving collectors remained hungry for irreverent artwork and clever wordplay across generations. Thing Sue exemplifies the set's literary-minded approach, presenting a clever visual pun that plays on both classic monster movie iconography and bookish culture. The card's artwork captures the imaginative grotesquerie collectors have always cherished about Garbage Pail Kids, combining pop culture references with dark humor in a way that feels both nostalgic and fresh for modern enthusiasts.
