Garbage Pail Kids experienced a major revival in the 2020s after decades of cultural nostalgia and collector investment reshaped the trading card market. Topps capitalized on this momentum with the Book Worms series, a themed set that playfully reimagined classic characters through a literary lens. The series became emblematic of modern GPK's ability to blend irreverent humor with contemporary collecting culture. Hot-Stuff Hobbes pairs wordplay with visual absurdity, transforming a recognizable pop culture figure into something delightfully grotesque. The card's clever concept and bold artwork exemplify what draws collectors to Garbage Pail Kids—that same anarchic spirit that made the original 1980s issues so memorable. It remains a standout in the set for fans who appreciate the intersection of humor and illustration.
