Garbage Pail Kids experienced a major resurgence in the 2020s as collectors revisited the irreverent humor and artistic traditions of the classic 1980s trading card line. Topps' 2022 Book Worms series continued this revival, applying GPK's signature grotesque parody style to literary and educational themes. These modern sets honor the franchise's legacy while introducing the crude artwork and wordplay to new generations of collectors drawn to the brand's enduring countercultural appeal. "Mike Precious" exemplifies the series' clever name-based humor, transforming an innocuous identity into something absurd through GPK's trademark grotesque illustrations. Collectors appreciate these cards for their irreverent wit and artistic execution, seeking out individual characters that resonate with the line's playful irreverence and nostalgic charm.
