SkyBox Marvel Masterpieces arrived in 1993 as a watershed moment for superhero card collecting. Released during the early boom of the trading card market, this set distinguished itself through premium production values and fine art renderings that elevated comic book characters beyond traditional sports card formats. Collectors and fans embraced these cards as legitimate art pieces, making the set foundational to Marvel's presence in the hobby during the 1990s. Beast, the brilliant and witty member of the X-Men, appears here as card 17 in this celebrated series. The artwork captures both the character's dual nature—scientific genius and fearsome mutant—in the painterly style that defined the set's appeal. Fans of early Marvel trading cards and X-Men enthusiasts continue to seek this card as a cornerstone of the Masterpieces collection.
