Obsidian Flames arrived in 2023 as a standard expansion in the Scarlet & Violet era, continuing Pokemon TCG's momentum during a period of sustained collector interest. The set maintained the modern design philosophy while offering fresh artwork and competitive playables that appealed to both players and enthusiasts building collections around contemporary releases. Skarmory appears here as a steel-type Pokémon with striking aerial imagery that captures the character's metallic plumage and commanding presence. Collectors appreciate Skarmory cards for the species' distinctive design and the solid artwork treatment it receives across most TCG releases, making it a natural addition to type or evolution line collections.
