Fossil was the third Pokemon TCG set released in 1999, arriving during the franchise's explosive growth in the Western market. It introduced fossil-themed Pokemon and mechanics that expanded the early metagame significantly. As one of the earliest expansions, Fossil remains foundational to first-edition collecting and represents a crucial moment when Pokemon cards transitioned from novelty to serious hobby investment. Lapras, the majestic ice-water type, appears here as a holographic rare that captures the Pokemon's serene appeal. Its commanding presence and elegant design make it a memorable card from this formative era. Collectors seek out Lapras for its classic artwork and its role as one of Fossil's most recognizable holos, embodying the artistic standards that defined early Pokemon card appeal.
