Raging Surf arrived in 2023 as one of the final Japanese sets before the Scarlet and Violet era fully took hold. The set showcased vibrant water-type Pokémon with the contemporary ex mechanic, representing a natural evolution of the modern trading card game's competitive and collector appeal. Japanese releases from this period remain particularly sought after for their print quality and artistic presentation. Tapu Koko ex captures the legendary guardian deity in dynamic form, a fitting subject given its significance in the Alola region storyline. The ex designation and super rare classification make this a centerpiece pull for serious collectors building complete sets or focusing on electric-type Pokémon. Its visual prominence and playable strength in the TCG created sustained collector interest.
