Disney Lorcana's Shimmering Skies set (2024) arrived during the TCG's second year, when the game had already established itself as a serious competitor in the collectible card market. This set continued Lorcana's ambitious crossover appeal, blending the artistry of premium card design with accessible gameplay, attracting both longtime TCG enthusiasts and Disney fans discovering trading cards for the first time. Merlin, the wise sorcerer from Disney's The Sword in the Stone, represents the character-driven appeal that defines Lorcana. Collectors are drawn to this card for its artwork and Merlin's iconic status in Disney's animated canon—a magical figure whose presence carries nostalgia and narrative weight for multiple generations of fans.
