Shiny Treasure ex represents a pivotal moment in Japanese Pokémon TCG collecting, arriving when vintage sealed product prices had climbed substantially and modern sealed boxes became central to the hobby's economy. The set's emphasis on full-art cards and special chase pulls defined collector strategy throughout 2023, making it one of the year's most sought releases in Japan before international availability. Mimikyu's ghostly charm and mysterious nature have long resonated with collectors, and this holo version captures the character's peculiar appeal through dynamic artwork. The card appears frequently in collector pursuits from this set, appreciated both for the Pokémon's popularity and as a solid pull from booster boxes.
