Fleer's 1991 League Leaders set captured basketball's elite performers during a golden era of the sport. Released as the NBA surged in mainstream popularity, the set focused exclusively on statistical leaders across various categories, making it both selective and meaningful. This concept-driven approach distinguished it from standard base sets and appealed to collectors interested in documented excellence rather than complete rosters. Michael Jordan dominates any League Leaders collection. As the decade's most dominant player, his presence in a set celebrating statistical achievement feels inevitable and fitting. Collectors value these cards as representations of Jordan's sustained excellence during his prime years, when his competitive superiority was undeniable and his cultural impact was reshaping professional sports.
