Card Notes
The Playboy Chromium Cover Cards Edition 1 from 1995 represents a curious footnote in trading card history, when the industry experimented boldly with licensed properties beyond sports. These chromium cards reproduced iconic Playboy magazine covers with prismatic foil finishes, appealing to collectors interested in pop culture ephemera and the aesthetic trends of mid-90s card production. The set captured a moment when chromium technology felt novel and premium, attracting both magazine enthusiasts and card collectors exploring unconventional releases. This November 1981 cover card features the magazine's iconic aesthetic from that era, showcasing the photography and design sensibilities that defined the publication. Collectors pursue these cards for their nostalgic value and as artifacts of both 1980s culture and 1990s card manufacturing innovation.
