# Card Notes: Caterpie – Nintendo Pokemon Vending Prism Sticker Card The Nintendo Pokemon Vending Prism Sticker series emerged during the height of Pokemon's Japanese market dominance in 2000. These holographic sticker cards were distributed through vending machines and represented a unique collectible format distinct from traditional trading cards. The series captured the era when Pokemon remained primarily a Japanese phenomenon, before the Western boom would reshape the hobby entirely. Caterpie, the beloved bug-type caterpillar, appears in this set as one of the earliest Pokemon from the Kanto region. The prism technology created eye-catching holographic effects that made even common creatures feel special to young collectors. Today, these stickers remain sought-after windows into early Japanese Pokemon collecting culture and the innovative formats that defined the franchise's formative years.
