Pokemon Journey Together marked a significant shift in the TCG's modern era, embracing illustration rares as a core collection pillar. Released in 2025, the set reflected the hobby's maturation—moving beyond traditional art styles to showcase diverse artistic interpretations. This accessibility to premium artwork across multiple rarities resonated with collectors seeking modern alternatives to vintage chase cards, establishing a new standard for what contemporary releases could offer. Maractus appears here as an illustration rare, presenting the Cactus Pokemon through a creative artistic lens that elevates it beyond standard depictions. Collectors gravitate toward illustration rares for their unique visual appeal and the way they celebrate individual artist vision, making each pull a distinct discovery rather than a formulaic duplicate.
