Pokemon Journey Together marked a significant shift in 2025 as The Pokemon Company embraced illustration rares as core set mechanics rather than chase elements. This set reflected the hobby's maturation, celebrating the artistic diversity within Pokemon TCG design. The inclusion of full-art treatments across multiple rarities demonstrated confidence in visual storytelling as a primary driver of collector interest during a period when the game was balancing competitive playability with aesthetic appeal. Noibat's illustration rare presents the sound-wave Pokemon in dynamic motion, capturing the character's aerial nature with vivid detail. Illustration rares of common creatures like Noibat hold particular appeal for collectors building comprehensive artwork collections, as these cards offer professional gallery-quality presentation of fan-favorite Pokemon that might otherwise receive minimal artistic treatment in standard releases.
