Panini Select arrived in 2023 as a premium release that carried forward the brand's legacy of modern, visually striking designs. The set emphasized chromium technology and artistic prismatic finishes that defined contemporary high-end collecting. Select's Black Disco Prizm parallel stood out for its bold aesthetic—a darker, more dramatic take on the already eye-catching prismatic base design. The 2023 release represented Panini's final years producing trading cards before exiting the sports card market. This one-of-one parallel captures Conor McGregor at the height of his cultural relevance as combat sports' biggest crossover star. The Black Disco Prizm treatment amplifies the card's visual impact with deep, refracting surfaces that shift dramatically under light. Collectors pursue McGregor from this era for his iconic status and the rarity inherent in one-of-one parallels, particularly in premium sets like Select.
