# Card Notes The 2021 Panini Prizm Octagon Signatures set represents a pivotal moment for MMA trading cards, capturing the sport's explosive growth during the early 2020s. Prizm's distinctive prismatic technology and layered design made it the hobby's dominant force, and this octagon-themed release cleverly merged the visual language of UFC branding with modern card collecting aesthetics. Silver Prizm parallels offered collectors accessible variants of sought-after rookie signatures. Michael Chandler's entry into the UFC coincided perfectly with this card's release, marking his professional debut with one of combat sports' biggest organizations. Collectors pursue his signature rookie cards as foundational pieces of MMA collecting, particularly those early Prizm parallels that captured the moment before his rise to title contention.
