Obsidian Flames arrived in 2023 as the seventh set of the Scarlet & Violet era, continuing a period of strong collector interest in modern Pokemon cards. The set maintained the contemporary design language and pulled from the competitive TCG metagame while offering accessible entry points for both players and hobbyists. Reverse holographic versions became increasingly sought after during this period as collectors appreciated their subtle aesthetic appeal alongside standard holos. Dratini, the iconic Dragon-type starter evolution line, holds enduring appeal across Pokemon generations. This reverse holo version captures the serpentine creature in characteristically graceful form. Collectors pursue Dratini cards both as nostalgia pieces representing the original 151 and as foundational cards in Dragon-type collections, making it a perennial favorite regardless of set or printing.
