POP Series 1 arrived in 2004 as a landmark release for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. These special promotional sets were distributed exclusively through retail partnerships and marked a significant shift in how players accessed modern cards. The Cosmos Holo finish—a distinctive textured pattern that became the series' signature—offered collectors a fresh visual appeal that set these cards apart from standard releases and created immediate demand among enthusiasts. Armaldo ex captures the fully evolved fossil Pokémon with dynamic artwork that showcases the creature's armored form. As an "ex" card, it represented high-power gameplay alongside the collectible appeal that drew players to this series. The combination of Armaldo's imposing design and the shimmering Cosmos treatment made this particular card a standout for those building POP Series 1 collections.
