Boundaries Crossed arrived during Pokémon's explosive 2012 resurgence, capturing the tail end of the Black & White era. The set introduced legendary Pokémon from Generation V's sequels, bringing fresh competitive cards and collector appeal to a period when the TCG was gaining serious momentum again. Cracked ice holos remain distinctive from this generation, their textured pattern instantly recognizable to players and collectors who remember opening packs during this pivotal year. Black Kyurem represents one of the set's most powerful legendaries—a dragon-type fusion that embodies raw competitive strength. Its bold artwork and legendary status make it a natural target for players building decks and collectors seeking key pieces from this generation. This particular card captures the appeal of Boundaries Crossed perfectly: competitive viability paired with striking visual presence.
