Garbage Pail Kids experienced a major resurgence in the early 2020s as nostalgia-driven collectors returned to the brand that defined irreverent humor in trading cards. Topps' 2023 release tapped into this renewed enthusiasm, delivering fresh designs that honored the series' legacy of satirical artwork and crude wordplay. The set captured a moment when GPK proved it could still relevate to both longtime fans and newcomers discovering the brand's anarchic appeal. Totaled Todd exemplifies the series' signature blend of dark comedy and clever visual storytelling. The card's grotesque subject matter and exaggerated artwork represent exactly what draws collectors to Garbage Pail Kids—art that provokes, entertains, and stands defiantly against conventional taste. For fans of the brand's unfiltered sensibility, cards like this one remain the genuine article.
