Paldean Fates arrived in late 2024 as a special set celebrating the Scarlet and Violet era of Pokémon. The inclusion of Shiny Rare cards marked a significant moment in the TCG's evolution, offering collectors an alternative take on beloved creatures with their striking alternate colorations. This set represents the modern era's embrace of variety and special treatments that appeal to both competitive players and visual collectors alike. Drifloon's shiny form presents the ghost-type in pale blue rather than its standard purple, creating a haunting and elegant appearance. The floating balloon Pokémon has always captured collector interest, and this shiny treatment elevates its appeal further. Fans of ghost-type Pokémon and shiny variants particularly seek out this card as a standout from the set.
