Facing a New Trial marked a significant moment in the Japanese Pokemon TCG, introducing the Alola region and its unique regional variants to the card game. Released in 2017, this set captured the excitement of Pokemon Sun and Moon's expanded universe, featuring Pokemon that evolved differently in their new tropical setting. The double rare designation reflects the set's premium positioning during a period of growing collector enthusiasm for Japanese Pokemon cards. Salazzle GX, the toxic lizard Pokemon, represents one of Alola's most distinctive evolutionary lines. Its GX status signifies powerful competitive abilities alongside striking artwork that showcases this fire and poison-type's serpentine design. Collectors appreciate this card for its representation of Alola's creative Pokemon reimagining and its place among the generation's notable GX cards from the early Sun and Moon era.
