Forbidden Light arrived in 2018 as a landmark Japanese set, introducing the GX mechanic's evolution alongside fresh artwork and competitive staples. The set marked a turning point in Pokemon TCG's modern era, bridging the gap between casual collecting and serious tournament play while maintaining the artistic excellence Japanese releases were known for. Ultra Necrozma GX captures one of Pokemon's most formidable legendary creatures in striking illustration. The card's dual-type nature and powerful attack effects made it immediately relevant for competitive deck-building, while collectors were drawn to its bold design and the rarity of Double Rare designation in the set.
