EX Sandstorm arrived in 2003 as part of the EX era, a pivotal period that introduced higher-powered Stage 2 Pokémon and double-prize-card mechanics. The set embraced the desert aesthetic with striking artwork and playable cards that saw competitive use. This generation helped sustain the Pokémon TCG through the early 2000s, bridging nostalgia with fresh gameplay innovations that appealed to longtime fans and newer players alike. Nuzleaf represents the grass-type roster of the set, depicted in an evocative illustration that captures the Pokémon's distinctive character. Stage 1 evolution cards from this era remain sought-after by collectors building complete sets and those drawn to the artwork from the EX period's creative zenith.
