Destined Rivals arrived in 2025 as a landmark set celebrating the enduring rivalry between trainers and legendary Pokémon that defined the franchise's earliest chapters. The set captured collector interest by revisiting iconic moments and characters from the original anime era while introducing modern gameplay mechanics, bridging nostalgia with contemporary TCG strategy. Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex represents one of the set's most compelling crossover moments—the legendary psychic-type reimagined through the lens of the villainous organization. Collectors are drawn to this card for its intersection of fan-favorite lore, striking artwork, and the inherent appeal of powerful ex Pokémon that command attention in any collection.
