Playoff Contenders was a Leaf Trading Cards brand known for its innovative ticket-themed designs and premium production quality in the late 1990s. The set captured the excitement of postseason football during an era when insert cards and specialty releases drove collector enthusiasm. Playoff Ticket cards featured distinctive die-cut formatting that mimicked actual game tickets, making them visually distinctive and tactilely appealing to the hobby at large. Barry Sanders appears here during the twilight of his Hall of Fame career, still among football's most electrifying runners. Collectors pursue this card for Sanders' legendary status and the set's creative presentation, which pairs his dynamic playing style with Playoff Contenders' signature aesthetic. As a singular record-breaker and one of the sport's most beloved players, Sanders cards from this era remain sought-after pieces of football card history.
