Jungle was the second official expansion set released for Pokémon Trading Card Game in 1999, arriving during the franchise's explosive North American debut. This set introduced beloved creatures and marked a pivotal moment when the hobby transitioned from niche curiosity to mainstream phenomenon. First Edition printings from Jungle remain particularly sought after by collectors as they represent the early, limited production runs before subsequent unlimited printings flooded the market. Mankey, the pig-monkey Pokémon, appears here with characteristic fighting-type energy and dynamic artwork that captures the era's style. As a lower-numbered common card from this foundational set, it represents an accessible entry point for collectors building their Jungle collections or pursuing complete first editions from this historically significant release.
