Jungle, released in 1999, represents the second major expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Following the enormous success of Base Set, Jungle introduced collectors to fresh artwork and new Pokémon alongside returning favorites. The set captures a pivotal moment when the TCG was establishing itself as a legitimate collectible hobby, with 1st Edition printings commanding particular attention from enthusiasts seeking early production runs. Marowak appears here as a stage-one evolution, depicted with the characteristic artwork style that defined Jungle's visual identity. The card exemplifies the appeal of early Pokémon releases—collectors are drawn to complete evolutionary lines from this foundational era, and Marowak's combination of nostalgic design and historical significance makes it a worthwhile addition to any serious Jungle collection.
