Team Rocket marked a pivotal moment in Pokémon TCG history as the first set to feature villains rather than trainers as the central theme. Released in 2000, it introduced Dark-type Pokémon and captured the franchise's edgier side, resonating with collectors who appreciated the departure from earlier sets' straightforward collecting experience. The set remains iconic for its distinctive aesthetic and role in the game's competitive evolution during the late Base Set era. Sleep! exemplifies Team Rocket's creative approach to Trainer cards, offering practical gameplay utility while reflecting the set's darker atmosphere. Collectors are drawn to Trainer cards from this set for their unique artwork and historical significance in documenting how the TCG adapted its mechanics to accommodate new themes and strategies.
